The Peacemakers
The Peacemakers by Karl Jenkins
Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 7:30 pm
FSA Senior choir with guest musicians
Sonja Gustafson-Soprano
The text – Percy Bysshe Shelley, Gandhi, The Dalai Lama, Terry Waite, Mother Teresa, Albert Schweitzer, Carol Barratt, Karl Jenkins, St. Francis of Assisi, Sir Thomas Malory, Rumi, Nelson Mandela, Bahá’u’lláh, Anne Frank
‘The Peacemakers is dedicated to the memory of all those who lost their lives during armed conflict: in particular, innocent civilians. When I composed The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace for the millennium, it was with the hope of looking forward to a century of peace. Sadly, nothing much has changed.’
Karl Jenkins CBE
Leah Morise and Will Gillespie
Join Will Gillespie and Leah Morise (with Mike Bourgeault) for a Saturday matinee of fun at the Richmond Tavern in London, Ontario.
Will Gillespie is a unique voice, a dynamic performer with a diverse catalogue of original songs, exploring Folk, Rock & Roll, Cabaret and other styles. He is a one-man show, accompanying himself on guitar and harmonica but his main instrument is the heartstrings. It’s a surprisingly full sound for such minimal instrumentation. Born and raised in South Porcupine, Northern Ontario, Will now calls Hamilton home. He brings this unique perspective to every performance, taking listeners with him from the small town to the big city, from the barn to the ballroom. Telling true stories beautifully through his lyrics, melody, voice, guitar and harmonica.
